Brazilians are the third nationality that most invests in Portuguese real estate

Brazilians have surpassed the Chinese in the total number of properties acquired in Portugal in the second quarter of 2016, according to figures released by the Association of Professionals and Real Estate Companies in Portugal (APEMIP).

The Brazilian-born citizens already represent the third nationality that invests most in Portuguese property, which corresponds to 10% of total foreign investment, an increase of 2% over the previous quarter.

 

The Brazilian client profile that invests in Portugal is generally someone who is older than 50 years, of the class A / B and with some degree/skills of an investor, what attracts more people from his social circles to Portugal.

APEMIP also revealed that in the second quarter of 2016, foreign investment amounted to a total of 23% of all transactions carried out, which corresponds to an increase of 3% compared to last quarter.

 

Foreign investors still prefer the regions of Lisbon, Oporto and the Algarve. Since the Algarve is sought especially by British and Lisbon and Porto by French and Brazilian. The French, amounting 25%, continue to be the foreigners who invest in Portugal, followed by English with 19%, and Brazillians with 10%. Chinese investment went down to the 5th place, having been overtaken by Brazilian and Swiss investments.
