NO BETTER TIME TO INVEST IN LISBON'S LUXURY HOUSING

Luxury homes are highly valued in Lisbon’s housing market. According to recent data released by the Confidential Property database, the prices of houses in the highest segment increased by 23% between 2013 and 2015, and 14% between 2010 and 2013.

The largest increases are in the more expensive segment of the real estate market, whereas medium-end market is on its way to full recovery. According to the Confidential Property of SIR database (System of Residential Information) "45% of total housing sales in the upper range of the market are concentrated in the areas Parque das Nações and Baixa (covering the parishes of Santo Antonio, Misericórdia and Santa Maria Maior)".

In 2014, after more than three years of depression, house prices in Portugal started to recover. By January 2016 Lisbon metropolitan area property prices went up by 3.69% (2.81% in real terms). The average selling prices of high-end properties have exceeded to €4,000/ m2 in the Santo Antonio neighbourhood, and fluctuated between €3750 and €3950/m2 in the areas: Parque das Nações, Misericórdia and Avenidas Novas.
